Rhodebar

£1.50 each

Rhodebars are a critically rare autosexing pure breed created from the Brussbar (based on Brown Sussex) and Rhode Island Reds.

An unrelated Rhodebar cockerel Is running with 2 Rhodebar hens & a utility Rhode Island Red hen. He is also being used to cross with Cream Legbar hens & 2 Welbar x Cream Legbar hens that lay an olive green egg.

The outcross with a RIR hen will give pure Rhodebar pullets but the cockerels will not be pure, it is useful to re-invigorate a Rhodebar strain.

The cross with the legbars gives chicks that are autosexing, to lay bluish or greenish eggs.

The photo of eggs shows a mixed box of hatching eggs from Cream Legbars, Welbar x Cream Legbars and Rhodebars.
